Dolby Laboratories has announced the launch of Dolby Cinema in India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s entertainment landscape. The first six cinema exhibitors to feature Dolby Cinema screens will be City Pride in Pune, Allu Cineplex in Hyderabad, LA Cinema in Trichy, AMB Cinemas in Bengaluru, EVM Cinemas in Kochi, and G Cineplex in Ulikkal.

Dolby Cinema is renowned for delivering an unparalleled cinematic experience by integrating cutting-edge visual and audio technologies. Dolby Vision enhances image quality with remarkable brightness, deeper darks, and an expanded color spectrum, ensuring lifelike and immersive visuals. Complementing this, Dolby Atmos provides an advanced audio experience, with multidimensional sound that flows around and above viewers, fully immersing them in the storytelling.

Michael Archer, Vice President of Worldwide Cinema Sales and Partner Management at Dolby Laboratories, expressed enthusiasm about this expansion: “The launch of Dolby Cinema in India is a pivotal moment for the country’s entertainment sector. Indian audiences are deeply passionate about movies, and Dolby Cinema offers the ultimate movie-going experience, aligning perfectly with the filmmaker’s creative vision.”

Since its global debut in 2014, Dolby Cinema has expanded to 35 exhibitor partners across 14 countries. Dolby’s commitment to the Indian market is further reinforced by its investment in 24 Dolby Atmos theatrical mix facilities and a Dolby Vision color grading facility at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. This initiative provides Indian filmmakers with state-of-the-art tools to enhance visual storytelling and achieve new creative possibilities.

With this expansion, Dolby Laboratories aims to redefine movie-watching in India, collaborating closely with filmmakers, studios, and exhibitors to elevate cinematic storytelling and deliver a truly immersive experience to Indian audiences.
