Balakrishna’s Lion had a promising start at the US Box Office as it collected $62000 from the premieres.
Despite the start Lion failed to hold its ground as the collections dipped drastically on Thursday ($12000). There isn’t any betterment in the trend on Friday as the film collected just $13000 that indicates disinterest of audiences in it.
Dongata starring Lakshmi Manchu released a week late in US, but couldn’t get a decent start in spite of getting favorable reviews. The film collected a mere $1300 on Friday.
Although Lion’s run in US isn’t good enough, the film is holding well in the domestic circuit. Lion has collected a theatrical share of around 7.4 crores in first two days in the Telugu states.
Lion should do exceedingly well to be a safe bet for everyone involved. As per trade reports the film’s collections in mass dominated centers are decent compared to that of big cities and A centers. The makers decided to reduce the run time of the movie by editing out some parts.
