A Cabinet Minister treats alcohol consumption as a fundamental right and a status symbol. Babulal Gaur, Minister for Home in Madhya Pradesh, was asked by the media persons about his opinion on the extension of time for liquor sale from 10 pm to 11:30 pm.
He then replied drinking alcohol is a fundamental right, a social status symbol and sale of liquor will no way increase the crime rate. On a finishing note, He advised people not to over-drink as it might lead to crime.
The 85-Year-Old Politico and Controversies go hand-in-hand. Earlier, He made headlines by saying fewer rapes happen in South as women in Tamil Nadu wear full clothes. In 2014, He was in news for the remark ‘sometimes rape is right and sometimes it is wrong’.
In another instance, Gaur told a party leader’s wife that he would teach her how to drape a dhoti in private when she asked him how he manages to keep the dhoti in place without using a belt or zip.
Will BJP yet again distance itself from the objectionable remarks of its Leader? Isn’t this a new low in Politics? Modi’s mann-ki-baat!
