Dulquer Salmaan, who has already won the hearts of Telugu audiences with his stellar performances in Mahanati and Sita Ramam, is back with yet another promising film titled Kaantha. This time, Dulquer is not just acting but also co-producing the film along with Rana Daggubati and others.
The teaser released today has created a buzz, revealing that Kaantha is set in the post-independence era, during the golden age of Telugu cinema. The story follows a passionate director, played by Samuthirakani, who sets out to make a horror film called Shanta with his protégé, portrayed by Dulquer, as the lead actor. However, as their creative journey progresses, egos clash, and tensions rise between the mentor and the student.
The conflict intensifies when a glamorous actress, played by Bhagyashree Borse, enters the picture, leading to further misunderstandings. Matters reach a boiling point during a public confrontation where Dulquer’s character boldly declares that the movie will no longer be called Shanta but Kaantha. This bold move sets off a chain of dramatic events that form the crux of the film.
