On his birthday, Dulquer Salmaan surprised fans by unveiling the teaser of his upcoming production, Lokah – Chapter 1: Chandra. The film, produced under his banner Wayfarer Films, marks an exciting milestone for Malayalam cinema as it is being touted as the industry’s first female superhero film.
Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the titular role, the film also features Premalu fame Naslen as the male lead. Sharing the teaser on social media, Dulquer wrote, “Welcome to the world of Lokah! In theatres this Onam. Teaser out now.”
The teaser hints at an intriguing story set across two different timelines, with Kalyani’s modern-day character seemingly connected to an age-old legend. For the first time in her career, Kalyani is seen performing superhero-style action stunts, with her character “Chandra” exuding a sense of mystery and power.
The visuals are striking, the background score heightens the mood, and the overall presentation gives a strong impression of a high-quality production. Directed and written by Dominic Arun, Lokah – Chapter 1: Chandra is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release during Onam this year.
