Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and MLC Duvvada Srinivas, who has recently been in the news for his candid interviews alongside his companion Divvela Madhuri, shared interesting insights in a recent television interview.
Despite being expelled from the YSRCP, Srinivas stated that his admiration and emotional attachment to party chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy remain intact.
When asked about the possibility of joining the TDP–Jana Sena alliance, he categorically ruled it out, stating that he would never align with that coalition. On the prospect of joining the BJP, Srinivas said the decision would ultimately rest with the people. Madhuri, however, left the option open, saying, “we may or may not join the BJP.”
Srinivas emphasized that he continues to hold deep respect for Jagan Mohan Reddy and asserted that he was deliberately distanced from the party chief by others within the YSRCP. “If I ever return to a position of influence, I will come only to you. I only seek your blessings,” he added.
He also clarified that he had never criticised former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy or Jagan Mohan Reddy, regardless of party affiliations. Reflecting on his time in the Praja Rajyam Party, he said he faced pressure to criticise YSR but refused to do so, maintaining his respect for the former CM.
Concluding his remarks, Srinivas stated that while he may consider joining a political party in the future, his ideological stance will remain consistent, and both YSR and Jagan will always command his respect.
