The much-anticipated sequel to Lucifer, titled Empuraan 2, has sparked controversy following its release. The film had to undergo a second round of censorship, with Mohanlal, Prithviraj, and the key stakeholders publicly apologizing to audiences whose sentiments were affected. As the controversy gradually settles, speculation is now brewing about the franchise’s third installment.
If reports are to be believed, Pranav Mohanlal, the younger son of Mohanlal, will play a crucial role in the upcoming film. Director Prithviraj is reportedly gearing up for the next chapter, tentatively titled L3. Unlike its predecessors, L3 is expected to shift its primary focus from Mohanlal’s character to Pranav Mohanlal.
The storyline promises to be gripping, chronicling the journey of Abraham Qureshi, also known as Stephen Nedumpally and Lucifer. The film will reportedly explore his arrival in Mumbai in 1982 and his subsequent rise to power as he expands his mafia empire on a global scale. A subtle hint regarding this plot was already embedded in the climax of Empuraan 2. Given the past controversies, the makers are said to be exercising extra caution with the script to steer clear of further issues.
