Former IAS officer Ratna Prabha has been officially declared as the BJP-Janasena joint candidate for the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election. Ratnaprabha, a former IAS officer from the Karnataka cadre, is being fielded in the Tirupati by-polls fray. She also served as the Secretary to the Government of Karnataka in the past. She joined the BJP after retirement.
Meanwhile, Dr. Gurumurthy is being fielded from the ruling party YCP. As the Tirupati MP Balli Durgaprasad Rao died, due to his untimely death, election to the Tirupati Lok Sabha was inevitable.
As Tirupati is primarily a center of education, it has a large population of highly educated people. Also, the electorate in the constituency is high. It is for this reason that every party here selects candidates with excellent academics backgrounds.
