We have all heard of the Narendra Modi wave which gave the BJP a stunning majority in 2014.So, what exactly is a wave? Simply put, it can be characterized as overwhelming public support for one particular person that results in huge electoral dividends to the political party he or she represents. This wave is further bolstered by the failure of the ruling party.
In 2014, Jagan Mohan Reddy was largely expected to win the election but now, there is a definite wave in his favour that will catapult him to power irrespective of whatever the ruling party does.
Even controversial decisions will be ignored by the voting public. For example, not many people are happy with Jagan’s friendship with the Telanganite KCR.
But such transgressions are deliberately overlooked by the voting public and the best efforts of the yellow media to tarnish the YSRCP will go in vain in the wake of this ‘wave’ that does not occur regularly in politics.
