In the film industry, the more buzz a movie creates, the better its reach. That’s why promotional activities often begin right from the moment a project is announced. However, director Vasishta’s promotional strategy for his upcoming film Vishwambhara with Megastar Chiranjeevi is reportedly having the opposite effect, according to Mega fans.
While the film’s release date is yet to be finalized, the team recently completed shooting a special song, and post-production and graphics work are currently in progress. In the meantime, director Vasishta has started giving interviews.
Instead of building excitement, these interviews seem to be dampening the buzz around the film. Fans are particularly upset that the director has been revealing too many details — including aspects of the storyline and the nature of Chiranjeevi’s character — long before the film’s release.
Many feel that disclosing such key plot points and important sequences is taking away the element of surprise and suspense. Some fans, who already have concerns about the story, now believe that these interviews are weakening the anticipation even further.
Their message to Vasishta is loud and clear: when it comes to promotions, sometimes less is more — especially if it involves keeping the story under wraps.
