Farming is one of the noble professions as farmers feed others. The food supply will get affected if farmers stop farming. Though lakhs of farmers are in the profession only a few see success and earn a good income. So the government conducts meetings with farmers so that the successful farmers can share their experiences with others.
One such meeting hit the headlines as a farmer speaking in English did not go well with the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister interrupted the farmer’s speech saying that he is living in India and not in England. He asked the farmers to not use English as he is giving tips to common farmers.
The Bihar government held a meeting with farmers so that the successful farmers can share their thoughts and tips with others. But a farmer started his conversation in English and the Chief Minister was not happy. He asked him to not talk in English as the event is in Bihar.
A farmer named Amit Kumar used English words in his speech and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asked him to stop using unnecessary English words. Nitish Kumar said that farmers are invited to give tips to farmers who are common men.
“Farming is being done by a common man, you are called here to give suggestions but you are speaking in English. Is it England? This is India & it’s Bihar…” the Chief Minister said.
Nitish Kumar’s reaction is getting mixed reactions. While a few say that what the Chief Minister said is right as most of the farmers might not have education and cannot understand the message he is giving, few others say that what the Chief Minister said is strange as the farmer used simple English words and not complicated words.
