Fatal Learjet Crash at Scottsdale Airport Involving Vince Neil’s Aircraft

On February 11, 2025, a tragic incident occurred at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, when a small private jet, a Learjet 35A, crashed into a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. The aircraft, owned by Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, had taken off from Austin, Texas, earlier in the day. Authorities confirmed that Neil was not aboard the plane at the time of the crash.

The incident occurred during the jet’s landing when the left main landing gear failed, causing the aircraft to veer off course and strike the stationary Gulfstream. Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, treating five individuals, with one person pronounced dead upon arrival and three others hospitalized. One individual declined medical treatment.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has assumed responsibility for investigating the cause of the crash. Initial statements from Motley Crue indicated that the deceased was the pilot, with Neil’s girlfriend and a friend among the injured passengers, though this statement was later deleted and replaced with a more general update. The jet was confirmed to have four occupants: two pilots and two passengers.

As of now, the identity of the deceased and the other individuals on board have not been officially disclosed. Authorities have also temporarily halted flights into Scottsdale Airport to facilitate ongoing investigations.

This incident adds to a series of recent aviation accidents, including a midair collision near Washington and a medevac jet crash in Philadelphia, both of which resulted in significant fatalities.

Further updates on the investigation and the identities of those involved are expected as the NTSB continues its work.
