After a lot of dilly dallying, the former Joint Director of CBI, Mr.V.V.Lakshminarayana, popularly known as JD Lakshminaraya in Andhra Pradesh, has been posted as Pune Police Commissioner. It may be recalled that after he was relieved as JD of Hyderabad CBI office, he reported to his parent cadre Maharashtra but for the past six months he didn’t get posting orders. Finally, he got posting when general elections are around the corner.
Mr. Lakshminarayana has dealt with several prominent cases during his services as Ex-CBI chief in Andhra Pradesh including much-talked about Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Disproportionate Assets (DA) case. He also inquired into the cases relating to Gali Janardhana Reddy. He handled several politically sensitive cases unbiasedly and earned a good reputation. He earned the sobriquet of Good Samaritan given his philanthropic works.
