Star Tamil hero Thala Ajith’s latest film Vivegam (Vivekam in Telugu) collecting 150 Cr at worldwide box office has become a sensation in South film industry as the film received divided talk.
The collections in the first weekend were staggering as the film was released amidst huge expectations. Trade pundits predicted the action thriller to take a nosedive after the first weekend but surprising many, the film held its ground.
And, as per the latest reports from Kollywood trade experts, the Ajith starrer has collected 150 Cr (100 Cr in first week and 50 in second week) worldwide gross.
It is reported in Kollywood media that Vivegam even surpassed the records set by Rajinikanth’s Kabali and Baahubali 2. After taking the highest opening at Chennai city box office on Day 1 by raking in 1.2 Cr, Vivegam has reportedly beaten the highest grosser in Chennai city, Baahubali 2 (8.2 Cr) by collecting 8.5 Cr so far. The film is predicted to amass 180 Cr gross in its full run.
Even after considering that the was released amidst sky-high expectations, the collections look unbelievable, but that’s what Kollywood folks have reported. There is no official report to ascertain these collections and many film folks on social media are ridiculing these tall box office claims as gimmicks of makers.
