Mega nephew, Sai Dharam Tej, who is blessed with the looks of his elder uncle, Megastar Chiranjeevi and the attitude (on-screen) of his younger uncle, Pawan Kalyan is going through the driest phase of his career.
With four flops (Thikka, Winner, Jawaan and Inttelligent – five, if we count ‘Nakshatram’) in a row, he is one hero who scares producers at the moment. His latest film, ‘Inttelligent’ incurring nearly 90 percent loss, is a testimony to how badly his market has crashed. And, unsurprisingly, the immediate aftereffect is being seen on his new projects that are in pre-production stage.
The latest we hear is that Tej’s supposed project with director Gopichand Malineni got cancelled as the producer backed out. Besides the disaster streak of Tej, the other factor that might have alerted the producer is that one of the films in the disaster streak – Winner – was directed by Malineni himself.
The reports further suggest that Malineni, who spent a long time in fine-tuning the script, has started scouting for another producer, who could be daring enough to invest on his combo with Sai Dharam Tej.
Meanwhile, Tej has shifted his total focus to his new film being directed by Karunakaran, a specialist in making romantic entertainers. This film is an out and out love story, a much needed change from the masala films he had been doing. He has another project lined up withe the critically acclaimed Chandrasekhar Yeleti. Tej completely banks on these two directors to give him an image makeover and save his sinking career.
