Focus: Flops Indicate An Actor’s Worth

We talk about records our mega, super and mighty stars scored. Then fans celebrate about the top guns. But trade analysts feel that only ‘flops’ determine the true worth and charisma of any actor at the box office. They have reasons to support them.
Recently released Govindudu Andarivadele evoked mixed reactions from critics and some audiences didn’t like the movie. Despite of all the tango with release day talk, Ram Charan’s charisma helped the film clock 40 crores. It’s simply his stardom’s power.
Similarly Pawan’s Rambabu, Mahesh’s Aagadu have first-day records to their name though the flicks have bitten dust with first show itself. In a way, it says that star power is able to pull crowds to theatres though the talk is out that a film is a bitter-content one.
Trade observers feel that star-power is star power irrespective of the content these directors make. Though no one wants flops to strike theatres, but a flop truly proves the hero’s actual capacity.
