Tharun Bhascker has teamed up with debut director Kasyap Sreenivas for the out-and-out entertainer Gaayapadda Simham, which had already piqued curiosity with its intriguing title poster. Adding to the buzz, the makers have now unveiled the film’s trailer, offering a lively first glimpse into its quirky premise.
The film revolves around a young man who has dreamt of settling in the USA all his life. However, just when his long-cherished dream comes true, his excitement is abruptly shaken by former US President Donald Trump’s announcement of the largest deportation drive in American history. The narrative then follows how the protagonist navigates the chaos that unfolds.
Director Kasyap Sreenivas tackles this topical subject with sharp humor and satire, presenting a distinctly Indian perspective on the American dream. Tharun Bhascker once again shines with his impeccable comic timing, while Faria Abdullah’s role stands out for its unique characterization. The KGF-style presentation, blended with Pelli Choopulu-esque satire, adds an extra layer of fun to the narrative.
Maanasa Choudhary plays Tharun’s romantic interest, with Vishnu Oi seen as his close friend. Veteran actor Subhalekha Sudhakar appears in a key role, adding weight to the ensemble cast.
