51-year-old Ghazal Srinivas, who was arrested on the charges of sexually harassing his employee a female radio jockey in his web radio Aalayavaani, has contradicted the allegations leveled by the victim.
Srinivas claimed that he had treated her like his own daughter. He further stated that she had stolen the office keys a few days ago and still he didn’t complain to police despite others suggested him to do so.
According to Srinivas, the victim herself approached him to do a ‘massage’ on his left shoulder which he was injured in a recent accident. Srinivas stated that he has all medical reports and said he is ready to prove all his claims. He said, “Trust my words. I always treated like my child. I don’t know what her intention behind the allegations. I never harassed her.”
Ghazal Srinivas alias Kesiraju Srinivas looked confident, composed in police custody. Meanwhile, the victim alleged that Srinivas has been harassing her for the past 8 to 9 months and the harassment has escalated since last two months. She alleged that Srinivas behaved inappropriately and even tried to ‘lure’ her with a central government job.
Ghazal Srinivas holds the Guinness World Record for singing ghazals in most languages. He worked as a librarian at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bhimavaram and Sainik School, Korukonda for a decade before quitting and starting as a Ghazal singer. He even appeared in the movie ‘A Film By Aravind’.
