
In the wake of the horrific terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, several Muslim-majority nations and international organizations have issued strong condemnations and expressed solidarity with India, reaffirming their firm rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The Muslim World League (MWL), headquartered in Saudi Arabia, extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured. MWL Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, during a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jeddah, strongly denounced the brutal attack and offered deep sympathies for the lives lost.
Echoing this sentiment, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the attack in the strongest terms. “The Kingdom affirms its firm stance in rejecting all forms of violence, extremism, and targeting of civilians. The Kingdom also extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and the government and people of India,” the ministry stated.
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also expressed unwavering support for India. Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, the ministry’s spokesperson, underscored Jordan’s rejection of terrorism and violence that threaten regional security and stability.
In a notable statement, the Taliban-led government of Afghanistan also condemned the Pahalgam attack, highlighting its destabilizing impact on regional peace. “Such incidents undermine efforts to ensure regional security and stability,” said the Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesperson, extending condolences to the bereaved families.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, conveyed his condolences via a post on social media platform X, stating, “Iran strongly and unequivocally condemns the terrorist attack against tourists in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families.”
Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon sent an official telegram to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi, expressing sorrow and deep concern over the loss of life. He reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
These unified responses from the global community underscore the widespread condemnation of the attack and the shared commitment to countering terrorism and supporting peace and security in the region.
