Vishwak Sen has faced a string of box office setbacks in recent years and hasn’t delivered a major blockbuster in almost five years. At the pre-release event, he openly thanked Anudeep for offering him Funky during a low phase in his career, noting that the film arrived at the perfect time.
His previous films, including Laila, Mechanic Rocky, and Gangs of Godavari, failed to impress audiences, with Laila drawing particularly harsh criticism. Gaami was his last moderately successful release, but he is still searching for that big hit to truly bounce back.
