Good News For TSRTC Employees

Leaving the employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) in a state of happiness the Telangana government has said that the employees will be given salaries for the 56-long strike period that happened last year and Rs 235 crore was released in this manner.
The fallout of the strike had resulted in more than 25 TSRTC employees losing their life and as a result, 48,000 drivers, conductors, mechanics, and other employees have called for a strike.
The strike was finally called off with CM KCR assuring the employees that he will consider their demands. Interestingly, KCR stood very firm on his decision to merge the TSRTC into the government. The Chief Minister’s office has issued a press note on the funds released to settle the salaries of the employee.”In accordance with the promise made by the Chief Minister, the state government has issued orders releasing Rs 235 crore from the Finance Department, to pay the salary amount of RTC employees for the strike period,” the press note read.
“We welcome the move, but it feels like a diversion tactic, as many of our initial demands with which we went on strike, still remain,” said V Chandrasekhar Reddy, state secretary of the Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU) in response to the press note.
