In exciting news for Telugu cinema fans, actor Gopichand is all set to headline a large-scale adventure drama produced by UV Creations. According to sources, the film is set against a post-independence backdrop and will be helmed by debutant director Ashwin Madasu. The project is being planned with a substantial budget and is scheduled to go on floors by the last week of March 2026, once Gopichand wraps up his current commitments.
A source close to the development revealed, “Gopichand will play a fictional character. Though the story unfolds in a post-independence setting, it is not directly about the independence struggle itself. The script is almost complete, and the shoot will commence after Gopichand finishes his two ongoing films.”
Currently, Gopichand is working on a film with director Sankalp Reddy under the Srinivasa Silver Screen banner and another project with a debut director under the Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra (SVCC) banner. Regarding the casting, the source added, “The team is keen on introducing a fresh face as the female lead. Other cast and crew details will be finalized soon.”
Speaking about director Ashwin Madasu, the source shared, “Ashwin has earlier worked as an associate director for films like Run Raja Run and Saaho. He also directed the award-winning short film Pink Lady. This marks his first full-length directorial feature.”
The film will be shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil and dubbed in Hindi. While the production team is aiming for a late March 2026 start, the exact schedule will depend on Gopichand’s completion of his ongoing projects, which are progressing swiftly.
