Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s Bareilly residence was the target of a gunfire attack during the early hours of Friday, though fortunately no injuries were reported.
According to police, the incident is linked to alleged remarks made against Hindu spiritual leaders Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. Responsibility for the attack was reportedly claimed by the Rohit Goldy Brar group, with two individuals, Virendra Charan and Mahendra Saran, issuing a threatening message online. In the post, they accused Disha’s sister Khushboo Patani of insulting their revered saints and warned of dire consequences if such acts continued.
Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya confirmed that two unidentified assailants fired outside the house at around 3:30 a.m. An FIR has been registered at the Kotwali police station, and a heavy police presence has been deployed at the actress’ residence.
The controversy stems from Khushboo Patani’s criticism of Aniruddhacharya’s remarks about women in live-in relationships. She later clarified that her statements were not directed at Premanand Maharaj.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, while security has been tightened around the Patani residence to prevent further incidents.
