Allu Arjun–Lokesh Kanagaraj Film to Embrace Hyderabadi Backdrop

The buzz around Pushpa star Allu Arjun and acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ambitious collaboration continues to intensify, with industry chatter pointing toward a major official announcement soon. While the project is expected to be a high-octane gangster drama in Lokesh’s signature style, an interesting creative development has now caught attention.
According to reports, Allu Arjun has expressed a strong preference for the film’s setting, requesting that nearly 50 percent of the shoot take place in Hyderabad. This marks a notable departure from Lokesh Kanagaraj’s usual visual canvas, as most of his previous films have been largely shot in Chennai, barring Leo, which featured locations like Kashmir and Manali. The actor reportedly wants the film to carry strong Hyderabadi vibes—something rarely explored by top stars in recent times.
Sources suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj has agreed to this condition, and his team has already begun location recce in Hyderabad. From a production standpoint, shooting extensively in the actor’s home city also offers practical advantages, including smoother logistics, tighter scheduling, and better cost control. Additionally, with large-scale indoor sequences increasingly being filmed at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad naturally becomes an efficient and visually rich base for the project.
If this collaboration materializes as expected, the blend of Lokesh’s gritty storytelling and Allu Arjun’s mass appeal, set against a Hyderabadi backdrop, could offer a refreshing cinematic experience.
