Kingston, starring and produced by GV Prakash Kumar, is all set for a spectacular release on March 7. This ambitious project, backed by Parallel Universe Pictures and Zee Studios, marks GV Prakash’s debut as a producer and is crafted with high production standards for a grand theatrical experience.
In a recent interview, GV Prakash compared Kingston to the visual grandeur of Baahubali and the spiritual essence of Kantara, hinting at an immersive and larger-than-life narrative.
Set in a cursed coastal village, Kingston follows the journey of a fisherman, played by GV Prakash himself, who dares to challenge the supernatural forces preventing villagers from venturing into the sea. His bold quest leads him into an underwater world filled with zombies and spirits, making for an intense and gripping storyline. GV Prakash revealed that he underwent rigorous underwater training, even managing to hold his breath for three minutes to execute the sequences realistically.
Directed by Kamal Prakash, the film utilized innovative filming techniques, including miniature sets and complex marine cinematography, to authentically capture the vastness of the ocean. With Gokul Benoy handling cinematography, the visuals are expected to be one of the film’s biggest highlights. GV Prakash confidently stated that the technical brilliance of Kingston would even impress Hollywood audiences.
Beyond its action-packed spectacle, Kingston is deeply rooted in Indian folklore. GV Prakash emphasized that the film aims to bring to life the stories passed down through generations.
The Telugu release of Kingston is being handled by Ganga Entertainments’ Maheswara Reddy Mooli, ensuring a wide reach for this much-anticipated cinematic spectacle.
