Star Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya has strongly condemned the paparazzi for “crossing the line” while photographing his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma. Hardik expressed anger that Mahieka was captured from an inappropriate angle, turning a simple moment into “cheap sensationalism.”
In an official statement, Hardik said that while he understands the scrutiny that comes with fame, what happened was unacceptable. “Mahieka was simply walking down a staircase at a Bandra restaurant when paparazzi decided to capture her from an angle no woman deserves to be photographed from. A private moment was turned into cheap sensationalism,” he wrote.
He further stressed the need for dignity and boundaries: “This isn’t about headlines or who clicked what — it’s about basic respect. Women deserve dignity. Everyone deserves boundaries.” Addressing the media, he added, “I respect your hustle, and I always cooperate. But please be a little more mindful. Not everything needs to be captured. Not every angle needs to be taken. Let’s keep some humanity in this game.”
Hardik and Mahieka have reportedly been dating since last year, with the cricketer making their relationship official in October 2025. Mahieka, 24, is a Mumbai-based model. Hardik was previously married to actress Natasha, and the couple divorced in 2024.
