In Indian society, family and children often take center stage in personal life. However, acclaimed Telugu director Harish Shankar has a different perspective. In a recent media interaction, he shared that he and his wife have decided not to have children, explaining the thought process behind their choice.
Harish Shankar revealed that, as the eldest son in his family, he took on the responsibility of ensuring his siblings were well-settled in life, including their marriages and careers.
“I dedicated my life to my family, and my wife stood by me throughout this journey. After fulfilling so many responsibilities, we made a conscious decision not to take on any more family obligations. That’s why we mutually agreed not to have children. We are now focused on living life on our own terms, free from social expectations,” Harish Shankar explained.
The director further supported his viewpoint by referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, drawing an interesting parallel to his own decision.
