Superstar Rajinikanth is set to headline a historic project produced by Kamal Haasan’s RaajKamal Films International, marking the first-ever collaboration between the two legendary icons. Unsurprisingly, the anticipation surrounding this prestigious venture is sky-high.

Tentatively titled #Thalaivar173, the film will be directed by the young and promising filmmaker Cibi Chakaravarthi, who previously delivered the ₹100-crore-grossing blockbuster Don starring Sivakarthikeyan. The announcement of Cibi Chakaravarthi at the helm has further amplified the excitement among fans eagerly awaiting updates on the Superstar’s next cinematic outing.

This landmark project brings together some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. Elevating the film’s scale and appeal, musical sensation Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the score, reuniting with Rajinikanth for yet another high-profile collaboration.

According to the official statement, production is set to commence shortly. While the primary cast and core technical crew have been finalized, the makers have confirmed that details about the supporting cast and additional technicians will be revealed in the coming months.

Planned on a massive scale, the film is officially slated for a grand festive theatrical release during Pongal 2027, promising to be one of the most anticipated releases in Indian cinema.
