How Jagan Fared as CM after Three years of Power!

The followers and admirers of former Chief Minister YSR will not forget the 2019 general elections result in Andhra Pradesh. By crushing the Telugu Desam Party, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP scripted a landslide victory. YSR and Jagan joined the elite list of father-son duos who ruled the state as the CMs.

The YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh completed three years. On this occasion, let us look into its journey. Starting with the plus points, the YCP government made a big step by bringing governance to the public. Bringing all the services under one roof, village secretaries were brought. By entering the Secretariats, people can get a variety of services

The voluntary system brought by the government came in handy during the Covid time with the volunteers collecting the samples and hanging over the Covid test reports to the public. However, the volunteer system raised many eyeballs when a few volunteers landed on the wrong side of the law. The High Court also asked why volunteers were given such a big role and responsibility.

We cannot start the discussion with the Amaravati issue. When YCP was in opposition, Jagan supported Amaravati as the capital city demand and said that the capital should be built without any compromise. However, his party changed its stand after coming to power.

As a big blow, the Jagan government said that the state will have three capitals for the decentralization of development. The court said the capital should be built in the Amaravati region only.

Another big criticism faced by the government is the alleged political vendetta. In the three years, many cases were filed against the opposition Telugu Desam Party. Forget about others, own party MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju aka RRR was arrested with sedition charges and he was reportedly mishandled in the police custody.

The likes of Vundavalli Arun Kumar, a strong loyalist of YSR also questioned Jagan on this and said YSR did not do like this when he was the Chief Minister.

In the YSRCP government, a few historic temples in the state were attacked, hurting the sentiments of Hindus. Ministers trying to calm the issue brought even bigger criticism.

Another big issue that made everyone show concern about Andhra Pradesh is its economy. The government not stopping the welfare schemes without any income sources made many experts worry that Andhra Pradesh might turn into another Sri Lanka.
