Only God knows what’s going on with Andhra Pradesh politics, especially with its politicians. Everyone treats themselves like demi-Gods, and feels like no one can go against them. They are tangled up in all sorts of misdeeds and crimes, but when they come to light, they claim innocence.
The exact same thing happened in Kurnool dsitrict’s Gummanuru now, after a huge Poker den was raided by the police. Gummanuru is the native place of YSRCP member and Gummanuru MLA, Gummanuru Jayaram. Gummanuru has become quite famous in a short period, with people from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu constantly flowing in, for one purpose, and one purpose only. The localites say that this purpose is nothing but to play poker.
How come a small town became that famous? Well, the common verdict from the people of the town and opposition parties is that it is because of that poker den mentioned above. With the poker den being so famous – where its greatness reached other states – it is hard to imagine that the police knew nothing about it until now. It is being said that the Police knew about it all along, but that no one dared to do anything because of Gummanuru Jayaram, who has the entire town in his grip. This den is said to be so profitable that it has a turnover in crores, on a daily basis. The people of the town say that Jayaram himself is getting a commission of minimum Rs. 10 Lakhs in a day. Of course, none of this has been proved yet, and investigation has to be done in the matter, until when nothing can be known for sure.
Now, in an unexpected turn of events, the den has been raided by that very Police themselves. Someone must have gotten jealous or did not want to see so many people flocking in on a daily basis. This is the only logical explanation for the Police to have gotten information about it, after which they raided the place.
It has now come to light that this place is headed by Gummanuru’s own brother. However, Gummanuru has washed his hands off, and has said that neither he nor his family are in any way related to this den. Well, that was quite expected, wasn’t it? After all, it’s AP politics!
