Hyd filmmaker slapped Rs 10L cost for seeking a stay on Jhund

The Telangana High Court on Friday slapped a cost of Rs 10 lakh on Hyderabad-based filmmaker Nandi Chinni Kumar for seeking a stay on the release of Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming film “Jhund”.

When he filed a petition to stall the release, a bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili had earlier declined the petition.

The bench asked counsel for the petitioner why he concealed information relating to the case he had filed at a lower court on the same subject.

The court directed Kumar to pay the amount to PM Covid-19 Relief Fund within a month. If he fails to pay the amount, the district collector would restore the same under Revenue Recovery Act within 30 days and forward it to the PM Fund.
