TDP has suspended MLC Deepak Reddy, who was recently arrested related to a land forgery case in Hyderabad. The decision has been taken by the party high command during an emergency meeting called by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Vijayawada today.
Deepak Reddy is the son-in-law of rebellious and influential TDP MP and businessman JC Diwakar Reddy. He was elected as the member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative council in March this year. Despite his strong political background, TDP leadership has preferred to suspend him in order not to let party’s image malign because of his arrest.
Moving from AP to Telangana, the ruling party, TRS is facing severe heat from opposition parties spearheaded by TDP in the case of party’s secretary general K. Keshava Rao, who engulfed himself in a land scam in Hyderabad.
In a fresh development, Keshava Rao has announced to return those government lands and pull his name out of this scam. Amidst the taunts of Telangana TDP leaders, TRS leadership has yet to decide upon whether to take action against KK or just suppress the issue since the senior leader has pledged to return the contentious land.
