Hyd techie ends life due to work stress

In a shocking testimony of the amount of pressure the IT professionals go through at work, a 45-year old techie named Sriram Rajaram reportedly committed suicide on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Preliminary investigation reveals that Sriram Rajaram, Strategy and Corporate Development of a leading IT company in Hyderabad, has been suffering from severe work related pressures which led to depression.

Police reveal that Sriram booked a cab two days ago and reached a tourist resort in Ananthagiri near Vikarabad, 90 kilometers from Hyderabad. Sriram even bought a nylon rope en route. The techie then emailed his senior official saying that he had been under severe stress and that he was ending his life.

A top ranked police officer from Hyderabad called the local police in Vikarabad to check if a person named Sriram Rajaram checked into Haritha Resort. Upon arriving at the resort, the police found Sriram’s body hanging from the ceiling fan.

This tragic incident once again throws light on the irregular and extra working hours, deadlines, targets and appraisals the IT professionals undergo in their professional lives. Experts opine that more than 50% of IT professionals have been experiencing severe mental pressure at work place.
