Ace director SS Rajamouli is set to return with another colossal cinematic venture titled Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Touted as one of the most expensive projects in the history of Indian cinema, the film is currently in its production stage and is already generating massive buzz across the industry.

Adding fuel to the excitement, noted filmmaker and writer Deva Katta, who is associated with the film as one of its writers, recently made a striking remark about the scale and ambition of the project. He stated that if Magadheera, Eega, Baahubali, and RRR were all combined and taken to an even higher level, the result would be Varanasi. His powerful comparison has significantly heightened expectations among cinema lovers.

Deva Katta also expressed deep admiration for Rajamouli’s extraordinary storytelling abilities. Speaking candidly, he admitted that even if the Varanasi script were handed over to him, he might not be able to deliver it with the same impact. According to him, Rajamouli operates on an entirely different creative plane, seamlessly blending emotion, spectacle, and imaginative world-building like no other filmmaker.

The film boasts a stellar cast with Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran playing key roles alongside Mahesh Babu. Adding further strength to the project, Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani is composing the music. Varanasi was officially launched at a grand event in Hyderabad, and even the title announcement created a massive wave of excitement.
