Andhra Pradesh IAS Officers Association general body meeting grabbed all the eyeballs late last night when bureaucrats were expected to discuss the ongoing tussle between Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Secretary L.V. Subrahmanyam. Chandrababu had questioned the Election Commission on replacing Anil Punetha and appointing L.V. Subrahmanyam who is accused in the disproportionate assets case.
According to sources, the issues of Chandrababu’s comments on Chief Secretary were discussed in the meeting. However, the officials did not take any decision as the quorum necessary for the general body meeting wasn’t met. With just 14 officers attending out of the total 184 members, the meeting was adjourned.
”Some are on election duty, so there is no quorum for the meeting. The meeting is adjourned,” K. Praveen Kumar, general secretary of the association said. In the 14 attendees, there were five probationers and 9 senior officials. The general body will meet again next month to discuss the issue of CS-CM tussle as well as that of probationers.
