The Telugu audience is eagerly awaiting a musical feast as legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja brings his magical touch to the upcoming Telugu family drama Shashtipoorthi, scheduled for release on May 30. Renowned for shaping the sound of Indian cinema, Ilaiyaraaja’s involvement has infused the film with a timeless charm, say the makers.
Director Pawan Prabha emphasized the indispensable role of Ilaiyaraaja, stating, “Shashtipoorthi would not be complete without Ilaiyaraaja.” He lauded the maestro’s work, describing the music not just as a background score but as the very soul of the film. “Ilaiyaraaja is the film’s first hero,” he added, highlighting how the soundtrack enriches the film’s emotional and narrative depth.
The film also stars young actor and producer Rupeysh, who is leading the project under the Maa Aiie banner. Pawan praised Rupeysh’s compelling performance, noting that his screen presence will captivate viewers throughout the film. Adding to the creative force behind Shashtipoorthi is lyricist Chaitanya Prasad, who described the experience of working on the film as a dream come true. Sharing his excitement, he revealed that collaborating with Ilaiyaraaja was a lifelong aspiration, and he believes the music has elevated the film to a whole new level.
