As part of India’s intensified global diplomatic outreach, Member of Parliament Sanjay Kumar Jha is leading a high-level all-party delegation to Japan, where Indian officials have received strong expressions of solidarity in the fight against terrorism.
Speaking to IANS, Jha confirmed that senior Japanese leaders, including the Foreign Minister and a former Prime Minister, have reiterated their full support for India’s stance on combating terrorism and its sponsors. The delegation includes prominent Indian lawmakers across party lines: BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas, and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid.
Jha condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 innocent lives, including children and tourists. “These were innocent people, brutally killed. The training and sponsorship for such attacks clearly trace back to Pakistan,” he asserted.
He highlighted three key components of India’s evolving counter-terrorism doctrine under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership:
Operation Sindoor: A decisive policy to retaliate against any attacks on Indian civilians by targeting terror training infrastructure, wherever it exists.
No Distinction Doctrine: Nations that sponsor terrorism will be treated at par with terrorists, reinforcing India’s zero-tolerance approach.
Neutrality Principle: Countries unwilling to maintain a neutral or constructive stance on terrorism will not be accommodated in India’s global partnerships.
“Prime Minister Modi has made it clear that ‘blood and water cannot flow together.’ Our focus remains on eliminating terrorism and reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK),” Jha added.
He urged Japan to play an active role in raising awareness about state-sponsored terrorism, particularly emanating from Pakistan. “This is not just India’s concern—terrorism is a global threat. As we have seen in the past, those who ignore it today may become victims tomorrow,” he warned.
The delegation’s visit marks a significant step in reinforcing international cooperation and conveying India’s resolute position on national security and sovereignty.
