India Vows Retaliation After Pahalgam Attack: PM Modi

Alia Bhatt will present an award at the 79th edition of the BAFTA Film Awards, the British Academy announced on Tuesday. The ceremony, which celebrates excellence in international cinema, will be held on February 22 at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Bhatt reposted the official BAFTA page and wrote, “100 points if you can spot me.”

The 32-year-old actor joins a star-studded lineup of guest presenters, including Alicia Vikander, Bryan Cranston, Cillian Murphy, Kate Hudson, Sadie Sink, Patrick Dempsey, Delroy Lindo, Emily Watson, Ethan Hawke, Gillian Anderson, Glenn Close, Hannah Waddingham, Monica Bellucci, Rege-Jean Page, Riz Ahmed, and Stellan Skarsgård.

Also attending the ceremony is filmmaker Lakshmipriya Devi, whose Manipuri-language film Boong is nominated in the Best Children’s and Family Film category. Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment, Boong tells the story of a young boy from Manipur, Boong (played by Gugun Kipgen), who plans a surprise gift for his mother. The film will compete against Disney hits Lilo & Stitch and Zootopia 2, as well as the animated sci-fi fantasy Arco.
