The Raja Saab: Prabhas’ Hindi Market Challenge This Sankranthi

Prabhas has firmly established himself as a pan-Indian superstar, particularly in the Hindi market, where his films consistently open to strong numbers. Even titles that underperformed overall, such as Radhe Shyam and Adipurush, delivered impressive Hindi belt openings, highlighting his appeal beyond the Telugu states.

However, uncertainty is mounting over whether The Raja Saab will replicate this momentum in the Hindi market. Currently, the film’s buzz appears concentrated primarily in the Telugu states and North America. In the overseas market, pre-sale ticket numbers are encouraging, with premiere bookings nearing the $500,000 mark, reflecting solid interest among Telugu audiences abroad.

In contrast, awareness and hype for The Raja Saab in the Hindi belt remain surprisingly modest—despite it being the only Telugu film this Sankranthi releasing with a pan-Indian Hindi version. Other Sankranthi releases, including Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Bhartha Mahashayulaku Wignaypthi, Anaganga Oka Raju, and Nari Nari Raduna Murari, are focused solely on Telugu-speaking audiences and are not positioned for the Hindi market.

With little Telugu competition in the Hindi belt this Sankranthi, The Raja Saab stands as the sole pan-Indian contender, making its Hindi performance a crucial factor for its overall box-office prospects.
