India’s ‘Period. End of Sentence’ won the prestigious Oscar award in the Best Documentary Short Subject category. The film is about women in India about their menstruation. It is directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi and produced by Guneet Monga.
The film starred real ‘Pad Man’ Arunachalam Murgunantham and it is a 26 minutes feature available on Netflix. The film shows the experience of girls and women in Hapur in northern India in the installation of a pad machine in their village.
‘Period. End of Sentence’ competed with ‘Black Sheep’, ‘End Game’, ‘Lifeboat’ and ‘A Night At The Garden’ in the documentary subject category.
