An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa was forced to make an emergency landing in Mumbai after experiencing a mid-air engine failure. The Airbus A320neo aircraft landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 9:52 PM.
Sources confirmed that a full emergency was declared when one of the aircraft’s engines failed during the flight. IndiGo later issued a statement confirming that a “technical snag” had been detected, prompting the diversion to Mumbai as a precautionary measure.
While the airline has not disclosed the number of passengers on board or specific details about the engine malfunction, it assured that all safety protocols were followed. The affected aircraft will remain grounded for thorough maintenance and checks.
To minimize inconvenience, IndiGo arranged an alternative plane for passengers to continue their journey to Goa. The airline emphasized that passenger safety and comfort remain its top priorities in such situations.
