Apple is celebrating the success of selling one billion iPhones, but the upcoming iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are still a hot topic for fans around the world. While it is a common knowledge that new iPhones will be launched in September, a popular mobile tipster has revealed the exact dates when the 2016 flagships would be launched, when the pre-order would start and when the devices would go on sale.
Evan Blass (@evleaks) tipped the netizens about a confirmed information he received regarding the pre-orders of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. According to Blass, pre-orders date is set for Sept. 9 ahead of the devices’ launch on Sept. 16. But the launch date is different from the actual event where Apple will showcase the new iPhones for the first time and it is expected to take place on Sept. 6, a day after Labor Day, according to MacRumors.
Considering last year’s practice, the new dates for the iPhone 7 launch, pre-orders and sale seem reasonable. As usual Apple hasn’t confirmed anything on the matter. Last year, Apple had launched the iPhone 6s series on Sept. 9, started accepting pre-orders on Sept. 12 and released it on Sept. 25.
Apple iPhone 7 launch event date: Sept. 6, 2016
Apple iPhone 7 pre-orders: Sept. 9, 2016
Apple iPhone 7 sale: Sept. 16, 2016
Other than the release date conflicts, there have been several rumours about iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices. According to a recent report, which cited sources in the supply chain in China, Apple might name its new series of iPhones as iPhone 6SE this year. The reason behind this is the minimal design iteration.
Rumours suggest the new iPhones will come in two variants with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes. So far, we have learnt that the upcoming iPhones will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, feature bigger batteries, double storage and RAM, A10 processor and water-proof certification. Since there is no confirmation from the maker itself, nothing is concrete just yet.
