Iran Declares Nuclear Talks ‘Meaningless’ Amid Israel Strikes

The ongoing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States have reached a critical impasse, with Iran declaring the talks “meaningless” following recent Israeli military strikes.

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei directly accused the United States of being complicit in the Israeli attacks. He expressed uncertainty about whether Iran would proceed with the next scheduled round of indirect nuclear negotiations with the U.S., which are set to take place on Sunday in Muscat, Oman.

“The other side acted in a way that renders dialogue meaningless,” Baghaei stated, as quoted by Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency. “You cannot claim to negotiate while simultaneously allowing Israel to target Iranian territory. It is inconceivable that such a crime could occur without U.S. approval.”

Adding further fuel to the fire, former U.S. President Donald Trump posted a fiery message on Truth Social on Friday. Trump claimed he had repeatedly offered Iran opportunities to finalize a nuclear deal but warned of severe consequences if they failed to act.

“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest terms, to just do it,” Trump wrote. “But no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t get it done. The U.S. produces the most lethal military equipment in the world, and Israel has plenty of it — and knows how to use it. Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all dead now, and it will only get worse.”

Trump concluded with a dire warning, urging Iran to act swiftly: “There is still time to stop this slaughter. Iran must make a deal before it’s too late and save what was once the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction — just do it before it is too late. God bless you all.”

Meanwhile, tensions in the Middle East continued to escalate. On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu officially launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military campaign aimed at eliminating Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Netanyahu vowed that the operation would continue for as long as necessary to remove the existential threat posed to Israel.

In response, early Saturday, Iran retaliated with a fresh wave of missile attacks on Israeli territory. Iranian state television reported the renewed offensive amid the heightened hostilities between the two nations.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed the attack, stating that multiple projectiles had been fired toward Israeli territory. However, the military has not yet disclosed the total number of missiles launched or the specific regions targeted.

The situation remains tense as both sides brace for further escalations in the conflict.
