The farmers in capital zone were one again threatened by Minister Narayana who said that if the farmers did not part with their lands amicably, then they will be taken away from them under the Land Acquisition Act.
The minister announced that the ground breaking ceremony for the new capital will be done in the first week of June and added that some farmers continued to resist giving up their lands.
He further informed that the first phase of development will be completed by 2018 and said that this was the final step in land acquisition.
He also issued a veiled threat of sorts when he pointed out that if the farmers did not give up their lands voluntarily, they would surely lose out if their lands are grabbed as per Land Acquisition Act.
The farmers who had gone to court against land acquisition must re-consider their demand, the minister said.
However, wouldn’t it be best if the minister explained as to how the farmers will stand to use if LAA is applied to them instead of giving soft threats?
