YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced to tour the state on foot (PADAYATRA) from Oct 27th. He would be covering 3000 kilometers over a period of six months. The padayatra will start from from Idupulapaya of YSR Kadapa district where late YSR was laid to rest.
Sounding election bugle at the conclusion of two day party plenary in Guntur, Jagan also announced 9 promises
1. To sanction Rs.12,500 per year to the farmers who own less than 5 acre land for four years. Cumulatively the benefit to each farmer would be Rs.50000 under Rythu Bharosa scheme. This will benefit 86pc of total farmers in AP (66 lakh farmers in number). A fund of Rs.3000 crore would be setup to stabilize the prices of farm produce.
2. For 89 lakh DWACRA women a complete loan waiver scheme would be implemented in four phases under YSR Asara scheme.
3. Old Age Pensions would be increased from Rs.1000 to Rs.2000 per person.
4. Under AMMA ODI scheme students from 1st to 5th class will be given a stiphend of Rs.500 per month to a maximum of two children per family. For 6th to 10th, each student will get Rs.750 and Intermediate (+2) students will get Rs.1000 per month. The money would be straight away paid to the mothers.
5. Under Housing scheme, all the poor people irrespective of caste, creed and religion will get pacca houses in five years. 25 lakh houses will be constructed for the benefit of poor.
6. Arogyasri scheme, which was initiated by late YSR will be implemented with renewed vigour by allocating necessary funds in budget. Special monetary benefit would be extended to family if the patient is the sole bread earner. Special pension to be given to Kidney patients.
7. Fee reimbursement scheme will be implemented without any conditions and each student will be given Rs.20000 per annum for expenses.
8. All the pending irrigation projects including Polavaram will be completed on war-footing.
9. Total prohibition of liquor will be implemented in three phases. Initially the liquor shop number will be reduced drastically while curbing illegal liquor shops. Liquor rates would be increased exorbitant in second phase. In third phase, Liquor will be made available only in five star hotels at higher tariff. Legislation will be made to punish those who manufacture or sell liquor with seven year imprisonment.
