Jagan Gives One More Major Shock!

AP CM YS Jagan has been giving shock after the shock to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Jagan who had vowed to reduce the consumption of liquor in the state in turn led to the increase of prices of liquor. He had also stalled the crucial projects in the state. The sand policy had turned out to be a deathknell to the construction and real-estate industries.

After proposing the scrapping of the CRDA bill and proposing three capitals for the state that led to the collapse of real market in and around Amaravati, in a fresh shock, CM Jagan has hiked the VAT (Value Added Tax) on petrol and diesel by 4.5 percent. Ironically, Jagan, when he was in Opposition, had argued in the Assembly that AP is one of the states that imposes high VAT on petrol, diesel and in a major volte-face, he has increased petrol, diesel prices along with the hike of state government-imposed VAT.

The existing 31 percent VAT on petrol has now become 35.20 percent which is in addition to increase of Rs 2 per litre on petrol. On Diesel, the 22.25 percent VAT is increased to 27 percent in addition to Rs 2 hike per litre on diesel. This is seen as a big shock to the automobile users. The hike of diesel prices and VAT is likely to incur huge burden on APSRTC and the goods transporting lorries. This is directly affect the increase of the groceries and daily-used commodities.

Opposition parties are demanding CM Jagan to roll back the hike of VAT on fuel.
