YS Vijaya Lakshmi (Vijayamma) has openly accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of betraying his sister, Sharmila, in a notarized affidavit filed with the ongoing NCLT case. She alleges that Jagan has done injustice to Sharmila and her children concerning family assets.
Vijayamma stated that no proper division of assets ever took place and that all properties remaining after YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s passing are family assets. “YSR’s intention was for all assets to be equally distributed among his four grandchildren. This was his clear directive. Every asset allocated to Sharmila in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) rightfully belongs to her. Jagan drafted the MoU based on her entitlement,” she said.
She further claims that Jagan allocated less than Sharmila was due. Assets like Saraswati Cements and land in Yelahanka, she says, belong to Sharmila, and the money Jagan claims to have given her so far only constitutes dividends.
Vijayamma emphasized, “Jagan has treated my niece and nephew unfairly regarding the assets. As a mother, I hope he does justice now. With God as my witness, everything I have stated here is the absolute truth.”
Jagan, on the other hand, maintains that the assets mentioned in the MoU were his contributions out of love for his sister. Reports suggest he is seeking to cancel the Gift Deed, arguing that the goodwill between him and Sharmila has been compromised following recent disputes. Had YSR been alive, the assets would have been divided as per his wishes. However, with his sudden demise in a chopper crash, Sharmila now depends on Jagan to receive her rightful share.
According to Vijaya Lakshmi, Jagan initially offered some assets to Sharmila, but after the disagreements escalated, he is allegedly denying her entitlement from their father’s properties.
