Jagan Refutes Chandrababu Naidu’s GSDP Claims

YSR Congress Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday refuted claims made by TDP president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu regarding the state’s rising GSDP growth rate and financial estimates for 2025-26.

“As correctly pointed out by @ncbn garu, the government prepared these figures under his guidance, ‘to deceive’. While the government can manipulate advance estimates of GSDP, it cannot alter the State Government accounts audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India,” Jagan said in a post on X.

He added that the fiscal performance can be gauged from the state accounts released by the CAG, which are independent of Chandrababu Naidu’s influence and reflect the actual receipts and expenditures of the state government.

“The economic reality, as reflected in the CAG’s accounts for the first half of this financial year, shows abysmally low revenue growth, unprecedented state borrowings, worryingly low capital expenditure, and low levels of consumption and investment. Additionally, the state faces alarming revenue and fiscal deficits,” he noted.

Jagan further alleged that state revenues are being plundered due to rampant corruption and accused the TDP-led alliance government of attempting to mislead the public into believing that Andhra Pradesh’s economy is thriving.
