Former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy finally appeared before the Nampally CBI Court today, as required after his recent trip to London. Though he reportedly attempted to delay the hearing, the CBI insisted on his mandatory presence.
However, Jagan’s court-related travel has now drawn attention for an entirely different reason — the high cost of his commute.
Jagan flew from Gannavaram to Hyderabad this morning on a private aircraft and is expected to board the same jet later today for his Hyderabad to Bengaluru journey. According to reports, the private flight he used is extremely expensive, with charges reaching up to ₹8 lakh per hour, including boarding and parking time. With the aircraft likely booked for most of the day for his multi-city travel, the total expenditure could run into several lakhs.
This has sparked discussion because, in the past, YCP leaders criticized Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan for using helicopters for official travel. Now, Jagan’s use of a high-end private jet for personal commuting is expected to draw similar scrutiny.
