It’s been more than two years since YSRCP supremo, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed the office. The journey has been a bit of ups and lows for him.
While the back-to-back wins in the local body polls and the Tirupati bypoll should be seen as ups, the steady decline in his popularity is a major downfall for him.
CM Jagan who emerged as the third best performing Chief Minister in the Country in the same Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey conducted last year had failed to repeat the same.
Forget about the best performing Chief Minister category, Jagan Mohan Reddy didn’t even find a spot in the list of Chief Under the category of Most Popular CM’s in their home states.
First time CM Stalin emerged as the most popular CM with 42 percent of approval points. If that can be the reason, Jagan is also implementing his flagship Navaratna welfare schemes.
Despite this, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s approval rating points didn’t see any increase.
So this gives a clear picture that fulfilling the election promises is just one of the factors and it can’t be the main factor that determines the popularity of the Chief Minister.
As per the observations of the analysts and experts, CM Jagan should retrospect himself and address the issues that needed to be sorted.
The issues like the failure of the government to bring more and more companies to make investments to provide employment, lack of development and batting a blind eye towards the infrastructure facilities in the state are also said to be the reasons behind Jagan receiving less approval points.
In the last two years, no big company came to Andhra Pradesh for investment, which is a big concern. The opposition parties have been attacking the government over this.
Well, same is the case with Jagan’s Telangana counterpart KCR.The Chief Ministers of Telugu States have failed to claim a spot in the category of top 10 Chief Ministers in any category.
Looks like, both the Chief Ministers are in the middle of bothering situation and they should focus on how to improve the approval ratings.
